º A Mirror for my clients, I am first an educator, second, a facilitator, then a practice partner.

º Relaxation, being receptive, and non-demand touching are the foundations of surrogate partner body therapy.

º I maintain a code of ethics, a non-judgmental attitude, comfort with my own sexuality and body, warmth, care, empathy, and an atmosphere of trust.

º We establish self-esteem through honest interactions and build confidence through practice.

Working in cooperation with a verbal therapist, I engage in one to one body-focused therapy, integrating mind and body with emotions. The verbal therapist facilitates a therapeutic team approach, helping the client to understand feelings, thoughts, and behaviors.

As surrogate partner and client, we exchange tenderness, trust, appreciation, honesty, and a kind of "love," building a temporary relationship that we know will eventually end. This provides a framework of learning and practicing intimacy skills to foster interactions in the realm of social/sexual growth.

Process - 1-15 sessions, usually once a week for the client to experience maximum benefits. Other schedules can be arranged with mutual agreement.
We start with a one-hour verbal session to get acquainted and for me to learn about the client's sexual history and other aspects of his/her life. If there is a feeling of comfort and commitment, we then proceed to two-hour body sessions.

The weekly sessions are followed by one-hour sessions with the verbal therapist as soon after the body sessions as possible.

Closure occurs by mutual decision of the three participants, The client and I have a one-hour verbal closure session to acknowledge the progress we have made as we look to the future.

Intensives - one to two weeks, meeting every day; convenient for those from out of town.
